In an attempt to read another quick book in-between my large and in charge Greg Iles book, I’ve decided to pick up another Scholastic book. This one is from the Poison Apple Book series, ages 8-12 as well but this book wraps itself around Vampires instead of Zombies.
Twelve-year-old Emma-Rose Paley has always felt different from her bubbly, outgoing parents. Unlike them, Emma-Rose has pale skin and jet-black hair, is quiet and moody, and prefers gray weather to sunshine. She also hates the taste of garlic, has very sharp incisors, and loves rare burgers. When Emma-Rose uncovers a dark family secret, she has a sudden revelation. Could Emma-Rose be a real, live vampire?
I’m hoping this book has better content and storytelling than the last book, but I have to remember the age group and that this wasn’t written for me.
I’ll keep an open mind!
