Every year, I make the decision to participate in Nanowrimo.
For those that are not familiar with what Nanowrimo is, it’s a celebration of November (National writing month) and also a challenge to get a 50,000 word book completed in a month!
It’s both the most exciting time and also the most stressful, if you’re not prepared.
For each year that I’ve participated in Nano (this will be my 9th), I’ve tried to create a completely new project. New characters, new settings, new story and well ….. all I create is new stress!
This year, I’ve decided to try something different and work on a project that I’ve had on my back burner but has been on my mind a lot lately. It’s “new” but I have the skeletons all lined up and ready to come alive.
Now, I’m not the kind of writer who does a draft and many people have dinged me about it before. HOW DARE I??? But I just can’t write with one. I like to allow my characters to take me on the journey unknown.
How is everyone else getting prepared for NanoWrimo 2018?
